The boom is triangulated and is caged in with a second boom and a support frame from above the rotator. The setbeam is set as stiff as I could put it without it having problems. (overflow errors) the box is for use when using it as a winch to pull trucks/objects, the arms in the cab are for side to side stabilising, and the arms on the rotator are for stabling the rotator when lifting at weird angles.
